Rochester Institute of Technology in Croatia
You can study at a prominent international university while enjoying the life balance Croatia has to offer. The Rochester Institute of Technology in Croatia has three undergraduate and two Master of Science programs. It was established in 1997 as the first and only American private institution of higher education in Croatia with dual degrees, American and Croatian.
For the first fourteen years, RIT Croatia (at that time known as ACMT) was based only in Dubrovnik, and since 2011, the Zagreb campus and graduate program has been open. RIT Croatia is a part of a prestigious private American university based in Rochester, New York. Besides Croatia, it also has campuses in China, Dubai, UAE and Kosovo.

The Rochester Institute of Technology is one of the largest private universities in the US, with over 230 different programs, founded in 1829 with a vision of combining the arts and sciences. Today, the business world needs exactly that type of educated professional: innovative and technologically savvy.
RIT Croatia was established as the American College of Management and Technology as a joint initiative between the Ministry of Science and Technology (now the Ministry of Science and Education), the Polytechnic of Dubrovnik (now the University of Dubrovnik), and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
RIT Croatia has over 2500 alumni working in over 40 countries worldwide. The numbers are even more impressive knowing that, for instance, 90 per cent of graduates of 2019 found work in their desired field within six months of graduation. An additional 4 per cent of graduates decided to further their education full time.

The Undergraduate programs
The programs and curriculum at RIT Croatia are fully aligned with the high standards of education from Rochester Institute of Technology. All classes are held in English and the faculty members have rich academic and professional experience.
Hospitality and Tourism Management offers essential knowledge for working in hospitality and the service industry. Is there a better place to learn about the tourism industry than the old town of Dubrovnik, possibly the best-known destination on the Adriatic coast? This program prepares students for leadership positions in the field of tourism and business in general. All classes are held in English, but one can also choose to master another language, such as French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish. The huge benefit is also learning in the real world, in the form of cooperative education with renowned companies and hotel chains.
International Business, a four-year undergraduate program available in Zagreb, is preparing students to navigate the world of global businesses and strategic management. They can also focus on one of three minors – marketing, finance or management. From their enrolment, the students can learn not only how to service other businesses but also how to develop their own business plans and ventures. Like with other RIT programs, focus on career-oriented education is a major aspect of this program. Over the course of 4 years, students conduct co-ops (internships) in their field of study comprising of 800 working hours in renowned local and international companies.

Web and Mobile Computing undergraduate program is available both in Zagreb and in Dubrovnik. Globally, RIT is ‘the third-largest producer of STEM degrees in the USA’, among the private universities, and a pioneer of technological education. Today, it is more relevant than ever.
The focus is also on practical learning, computer programming, software development, mobile app and web development and learning how to integrate the back-end code with the front-end user experience across several languages and platforms. Students have to have at least 800 hours of internship in the field of their study digital companies, like Async Labs, Bit4Bytes, Cinnamon Agency, Croz, Enum Software, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, HR Cloud, Infoart, Laus CC, Megatrend, mStart, Perpetuum Mobile, PHOBS, Spark Mostar, t-matix, Verso Altima Group and ZIRA, working on real-life projects.

Master of Science programs
Both programs, Service Leadership & Innovation and Information Sciences & Technologies are delivered in Zagreb. The goal of both programs is to prepare professionals that will lead organisational change and transformation.
MS Service Leadership & Innovation program is designed for all professionals in need of a deeper understanding of management, especially using tools like data mining, which became more widely recognised following digital technologies’ innovations. The program is focused on anticipating disruptive changes and adapting to them, with creativity and innovation being crucial elements.
The best way to share the RIT Croatia mission is to share the Associate Dean’s words, Dr Sc Irena Guszak Cerovečki: ‘RIT Croatia is there for its students. Our primary goal is to adequately prepare students for the job market that awaits them after graduation. We teach students to think critically, ask the right questions, and know-how to cope when faced with challenges and obstacles – acting with honesty and integrity.’

All of the above cannot be achieved just with the focus on the work. The extracurricular activities are a big part of the RIT Croatia life and a great place to evolve as a person.
Students attend clubs depending on their affinities. Even the student government focuses on raising the students’ quality of life while preparing them to solve problems and offer solutions.
