The summer weekend of code

Latvian CodeX Hackathon was a fully cost-covered experience for international developers.

Participation in CodeX was free; anyone could apply, including programmers, designers, students, entrepreneurs or anyone interested in technology. Two Croatian organisations supported the event, Split Tech City and BIRD Incubator.

The event was held from Friday 17th of June until Sunday 19th at the Riga Technical University. Participants were eager to make the most of the opportunity to meet in person again and make their mark.

The CodeX Hackathon gathered 200 participants onsite in Riga, 300+ people in the discord community, with 41 ecosystem partners from all over Europe, six coding challenges, 43 teams, a 13.5k euro prize fund, six winners, and many sleepless hackers. The main winner, Ubiquiti Inc. team Phoenix received 5000 EUR (7640 AUD) for developing a real-time parcel tracking system.

For 48h hours, participants got to enjoy not just the local food & accommodation, but also the opportunity to explore new technologies – ranging from machine learning to multiverse.
